Whether you’re exploring our program or preparing to apply, here are some of the most common questions about Metropolitan Design School, our courses, and the admissions process.

What kind of school is the Metropolitan Design School?

Metropolitan Design School is a New York State Licensed Private Career School offering a diploma in Interior Design. Our focus is hands-on learning in a studio environment that combines creativity with professional preparation.

MDS offers small class sizes, in-person instruction, and mentorship from working professionals. Our partnership with East End Interiors, a trusted name in design for over 35 years, connects students directly with the local design industry.

The MDS Design Library offers a curated collection of professional-grade materials, including fabrics, woods, metals, wall coverings, and stone samples from leading manufacturers, providing students with direct access to the same resources used by industry professionals.

Graduates earn a diploma in Interior Design from a New York State–licensed private career school upon successful completion of all required clock hours and coursework.
